History of Christian radio and television center on the terrain of Ukraine began in the 90-ss of the last century.

The first step to the establishment of the programming was made in Ivano-Frankivsk, where radio programs hosted by Ivan Kosovan were first recorded at the regional radio and television company. Later there was set up a studio in the church building in Ivano-Frankivsk. Since 1995 and till nowadays 15-minute and 5-minute radio programs are being broadcasted on the First National Radio of Ukraine. Later the audience of the Second National Channel “Promin” joined to listen to Christian programs.

Inspired talks of Liliya and Ivan Kosovan as well as Agnesa and Ivan Chernychko evoked numerous responses from listeners. Hundreds of letters with questions, requests, and testimonies were attended to and as a result radio broadcast correspondence Bible School was established in Kyiv in1992.

At the end of 1999 the radio studio was transferred to Kyiv.

The very first video camera was presented as a gift for the development of the studio after the program of Aleksandr Bolotnikov “Two Nations – Two Religions” in 2001. Little by little television equipment was bought and it gave an opportunity to record special services, evangelistic programs, church projects. Also Russian-Language programs “The Bible says” was dubbed into Ukrainian.

The stuff of the television and radio center under the leadership of Daniil Reband took part in the broadcasting of satellite programs such as “Into the Future With Hope” hosted by Marc Finley (2005) and “Secrets of Apocalypses” hosted by Petr Kulakov (2007) which were held in Kyiv.

In January 2008 regular recording of the project “Searching for the Truth” began in Ukrainian and in Russian. In the second half of 2008 television channel “Hope” began its journey as a separate department of Ukrainian Union.

In order to fill up the air on the satellite Hope Channel more than ten series of sermons preached by different pastors were recorded. The recordings were made in the improvised TV studios or during Revival Weeks in Churches of Lviv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsya, Poltava, Chernigiv. On January 19, 2009 a very significant event for Channel “Hope” happened which helped the development and the establishment of the Channel. The first television studio of Hope Channel was opened in Ukraine and it presented a great variety of opportunities for the creation of new systematic television projects.

Today Hope Channel Ukraine is a big team of people, coworkers and volunteers who are driven by the same goal to share with the world the great hope that each person can have. 4 media centers (in Bucha, Lviv, Vinnytsya and Mykolayiv) are preparing to broadcast spiritual enlightening, youth and social programs for different people.

Among the regular programs especially popular are the series of documentary “There is Love”, daily morning program “Morning of Hope”, and also youth talk-show “Let’s Talk” which can be viewed live online. These programs can be watched not only by the viewers of the satellite Hope Channel Europe but also by those who watch regional channels and Ukrainian cable nets. Great number of letters and hotline phone calls prove that people really feel the need for God’s Word. Hope Channel Ukraine successfully engages modern broadcasting means. A very significant way of reaching the community is the Internet website www.hopechannel.info where the users of the web can watch the programs offline, discuss questions, and learn current news of the capital city as well regional news. Besides, anyone can become the participant of programs regularly broadcasted live.
